OUT-LGBT Well-being is 15 years old and one of the biggest LGBT organisations in South Africa. There has been many successes including playing a leading role in securing same sex marriage and the opening of a dedicated LGBT community centre. The focus is on health and rights. OUT has the following programmes:

• Counselling (face to face, telephonic and electronic), groups (gay men, lesbian women, book club, trans group, group for parents, alcoholics anonymous, group for therapists)
• HIV prevention programmes focussing of substance use, strengthening of community norms, electronic based prevention www.m2m
• Clinic with ARV service and holistic HIV care
• Research into sexual risk factors
• Advocacy to protect and further LGBT, gender and progressive inclusive legislation.

OUT serves on the South African National AIDS Council and is in the process of opening offices within three provinces in South Africa. OUT has a full time staff component of 15 and operations are overseen by a Board.
